Back discomfort is as complex an issue as it is a common one. Eight in ten adults in the UK will experience back or neck muscle pain at some time in their lives, costing the UK more than ₤ 10 billion a year in lost working days and triggering unknown pain and suffering.

Despite this prevalence, ensured treatment for pain in the back stays elusive and those experiencing it deal with a bewildering range of alternatives, from gadgets and therapies to workout classes and supplements guaranteeing to treat it.

With a lot of conflicting evidence and guidance, where to start? For a recent BMJ research study, a group led by Teacher Paulo Ferreira and Emma Ho from the University of Sydney’s medication professors attempted to offer clearer assistance
