This golden, glowing Turmeric Oatmeal gives your breakfast a super healthy kick. With its anti-inflammatory properties, turmeric is a great addition to your diet. Try it out in this unique, delicious breakfast recipe!

Turmeric is having a bit of a moment right now, and for good reason. Turmeric has long been used medicinally in Southeast Asia for its anti-inflammatory properties, as well as to support decreased cancer risk, and detoxification. There are new studies being done to investigate its potential for improving cognitive function, blood sugar balance, and kidney function. That’s one hell of a spice if you ask me.
So aside from the usual suspects like curry (here’s a great turmeric vegetable curry recipe), turmeric is making its way into breakfast foods. By adding a little bit to oatmeal, you’re left with a glowing golden bowl of turmeric oatmeal… and who doesn’t love a big bowl of sunshine in the morning?
The flavor of turmeric is fragrant and floral, a little on the sweet side. It’s the perfect complement for some fruit. In my opinion, the oatmeal on its own is a little too bland. The turmeric adds a nice earthy flavor, but it really comes to life when all the toppings are added.

I wanted to keep this bowl super healthy, so I added some frozen raspberries and blueberries for sweetness, some shredded coconut, mixed nuts and seeds, and some dried cranberries. The fruit alone is more than enough sweetener and adds a punchy sharpness that complements the turmeric oatmeal perfectly! You’ll feel so vibrant and awake if you start your day with a bowl of this!
Turmeric is definitely going to make its way into much more of my diet. It’s a fantastic, delicious spice, and with all those health benefits, you’d be crazy not to! Let me know if you try out this delicious, glowing breakfast!
